This process works will work for any timber surface coated in Fiddes Hard Wax Oil. Hard Wax Oil is a blend of natural oils and waxes offering exceptional durability and resistance for internal timber surfaces and flooring. Hard Wax Oil is easily maintained and rejuvenated when required. If maintained correctly, no future sanding is needed as it is a replenishable coating system designed to be easily spot repaired without leaving repair marks. We Show you the Difference between these 4 finishes
Fiddes Universal Decking Oil is a water repelling Decking Oil, that penetrates deeply into both smooth and planed, rough sawn decking and exterior timber. Formulated to both preserve, protect and restore. Prevents splitting & surface growth of algae whilst also offering high resistance to wear & water penetration, with excellent beading. Available in a range of Clear, which allows your timber to grey naturally, and 3 natural colour shades containing UV filters that resist colour fade. Preparation - Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from any previous finish. - Remove any fungal growth, dirt or moss on old timber prior to application. - Sand the substrate with an 80 grade sanding paper or 80 grade sanding disk removing all traces of dust. Application - Apply in dry conditions. - Always test on a small area prior to initial application to check colour shade. First Coat - Stir contents thoroughly, before and during use. - Apply consistently using a Fiddes Floor brush or 10mm microfibre roller and lay evenly, following the direction of the grain. Leave to dry for 6-12 hours. Second & Third Coats - Sand lightly if necessary and apply as per first coat. - Longer drying periods may occur during application in cold, damp or humid conditions. Coverage - A single application will cover approximately 10-20 sqm per litre depending on density of substrate Re-application - Annual re-application is recommended.
